I am selling a set of folding bar chimes made by Latin Percussion (LPxxxx).
Bar chimes are stroked either by hand, a drumstick or a metal striker to produce a shimmering glissando effect. If Tinkerbell’s magic dust made sound, it would sound like bar chimes. Bar chimes can sweeten just about any recording, and I would never consider playing an acoustic gig without their distinctive sound.
These hinged bar chimes may be played opened up for extra long sweeps, or they may be played folded for a more dense and complex sound. This set of chimes features 50 bars of &#xxxx;” hardened aluminum alloy that are strung with high-strength braided cord, and suspended from a finely figured hardwood frame. Included with the chimes is LP’s Mount-All Bar Chimes Bracket (LP236D), which has been specially adapated for these folding bar chimes.
When fully opened these bar chimes measure nearly three feet across. When folded, they fit neatly into their 20” case for convenient transport.
